Miniature Guitar

Miniature guitars are an important element of the music industry, as manufacturers create replicas of famous guitarists' gear for hardcore fans or collectors. Creating an accurate model of a guitar requires advanced skills and experience. However, making a generic acoustic guitar out of cardboard is not extremely difficult, even if it's the first time you're trying this craft. The most challenging part of creating a simple miniature guitar is adding strings that produce a substantial sound when you vibrate them.

1 Draw the acoustic guitar on a piece of thick cardboard as you would see it from above. Form the soundboard that resembles the number 8, along with the long fret and the headstock on its edge. Keep a 5-inch distance between the bottom of the soundboard and the tip of the headstock.
    
2 Cut out the whole shape and place it on another piece of thick cardboard. Draw around the soundboard to create an identical 8-like shape. Cut out the new shape.
       
3 Draw the circular sound hole on the soundboard of the initial shape. Cut open the hole with the utility knife.
       
4 Draw a rectangle on thin cardboard, measuring 12 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width. Cut it out and place it between the two soundboard shapes, creating a three-dimensional object. Attach all three parts together with sticky tape and cut out the excess length of the rectangle.
      
5 Cut three pieces of size 38 rubber band measuring 4.5, 4 and 3.5 inches. Carefully pierce through one end of the bands with flat-head pushpins. To do this, put the band on a hard, flat surface and squeeze through their surface with the pin.
     
6 Place the rubber band pieces directly next to each other in the area between the soundboard's bottom and the sound hole.
     
7 Pierce the other end of of the bands with another three pushpins and place them on the headstock. It does not matter if one pin's head covers another, as long as the pin is firmly pierced to the cardboard.
     
8 Cover the back side of headstock with clay to avoid accidents with the pointed edges of the pushpins.
